Funeral services for Betty Joyce Bennett, age 79, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday March 10 at 3:30 pm in the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Kevin Daughrity will officiate. Interment will follow in the Maxwell Cemetery South.  Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. until time of services.

Betty passed away Thursday March 5, 2020 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born June 8, 1940 in Cookeville to the late Olon Maxwell and Myrtle Moss Maxwell.
Betty was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ and former member of Crossville Church of Christ.  She worked as a register nurse at Cookeville General Hospital (CRMC) prior to becoming homemaker and raising her children.Betty enjoyed volunteering in different capacities at church and school. Later in life she enjoyed being active in the Cookeville Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Gina Pruitt of Hermitage; son, Chris (Linda) Bennett of Crossville; three brothers, Charles (Linda) Maxwell, Roney (Marsha) Maxwell, Steven (Jeraldine) Maxwell all of Baxter, TN; four grandchildren, Tyler (Haley) Bennett; Ashley Bennett, Bennett Pruitt, and Camille Pruitt.

Pallbearers will be Tony Maxwell, Brian Maxwell, Stevie Maxwell, Tommy Apple, Tim McHood, and Jess Amonette. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff McHood, Tyler Bennett, and Bennett Pruitt.
