BETTY RUTH MYERS of Crossville, TN passed away March 21, 2025. She was born February 10, 1938 in Crossville, TN the daughter of Millard and Ola B. McCormick Woody. On June 11, 1955, she married Alfred Landon Myers and they were married for 64 years.

Betty worked at Lee’s Florist in Crossville, TN before she and her husband moved to Detroit, MI in 1964. In Michigan, she also worked at a Lee’s Florist until they moved back to Crossville, TN in 1972, where they built and operated Al’s Town & Country Produce Market. Al and Betty retired and sold the business in 1997. Betty was a member of Pine Eden Baptist Church.

After the passing of her husband, Betty was diagnosed with dementia in 2020. She was cared for at her home until 2023, when she decided to go to Dominion Assisted Living and Memory Care. She loved her “apartment”, as she called it. She loved watching the birds outside her window and the deer in the fields. She thrived while there enjoying all of her friends, entertainment, outings, and fellowship. She went into the hospital in February and from there back to her home and was surrounded by her family until her passing.

She is survived by her son- Tony Myers and his wife Vanessa of Crossville, TN, daughter- Rhonda Rector and her husband John also of Crossville, TN, grandchildren- Caison and Lori Myers, Camdon and Faith Turner Myers, Bobby and Natalie Griffin, Liz and Jeff Brown, Heather Rector and Jackie Griffith, thirteen great grandchildren, brother- Charles “Chuck” Woody, sisters- Georgia “Jo” Burgess and Patricia Easterly, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- Al Myers, stepfather- Othie Turner, brothers- Robert Woody and Ernest Woody and sister-Rhoda Bell Stewart.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday March 26, 2025 at 11am at Woody Cemetery.
