BLACK BEAR BECOMES STRANDED ON ROOF OF A GATLINBURG ATTRACTION
In Gatlinburg, Tennessee, a 375-pound black bear became stranded on the roof of Ripley’s Motion Blaster sometime between midnight and 2 a.m. on Friday.
The Gatlinburg Police Department received reports of the incident, and city officials confirmed that police, the street department, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), and Great Smoky Mountains National Park staff worked together to resolve the situation.
Around 11:30 a.m., responders used a city bucket truck to reach the bear, tranquilized it, safely removed it from the roof, and released it unharmed back into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
