According to a report by the Bledsonian Banner, Selina Sparkman, the Director of Schools for Bledsoe County, has submitted her resignation, which will be formally presented to the Bledsoe County School Board during a special meeting scheduled for Monday, June 23, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Bledsoe County Middle School.

Sparkman has accepted a new position with a school district in West Tennessee, prompting her departure from the county.

According to Andy Billingsley, Chairman of the School Board, the board is expected to appoint an interim director of schools during the same meeting to ensure continuity in leadership.
