BLOUNT CO. DEPUTIES SEEKING INFORMATION ABOUT HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT
Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said deputies investigating the hit and run crash that seriously injured a Maryville bicyclist Friday evening have identified a possible vehicle of interest based on witness statements.
Deputies would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a silver 2009 through 2013 model Nissan Frontier in the area of Peterson Lane and Old Niles Ferry Road at around 8 p.m. Friday night. The vehicle will likely have heavy front end damage.
The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual who struck the bicyclist Friday evening around 8 p.m. on Peterson Lane near Old Niles Ferry Road. Following the accident, the driver fled the scene, leaving the victim, 36-year-old Troy Christopher Sample, seriously injured. Sample remains in critical condition in ICU at U.T. Medical Center.
