BLOUNT COUNTY TEACHERS CAN ALERT 911 WITH ONE TOUCH OF A BUTTON
Blount County now has new high-tech security system that gives over 2,000 county employees, including school teachers, the chance to call 911 without even picking up a phone. The system is called SARA or Situational Awareness Response Assistant and it ties together security cameras, emergency alerts and 911-center access to pinpoint what exact emergency is taking place and where. Dispatchers can then get the appropriate agency to respond to the emergency.
