BOATING ACCIDENT IN LOUDON COUNTY RESULTS IN A FATALITY AND ONE INJURED
A boating accident this morning near Lenoir City resulted in a fatality and one injured. David Morris, age 50, and Michael Hopkins, age 39, were fishing below Ft. Loudoun Dam when the boat was pulled into the spillway after the engine would not start. Both men had life jackets on at the time of the incident. Hopkins was rescued by witnesses but Morris did not survive. His body was recovered downstream by a dive team. Hopkins was treated at a hospital and later released.
