Funeral services for Bobbie Ruth (Groce) Elder, age 82, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Byrdstown, Tennessee, will be Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at Byrdstown First Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Lovelady-Sims Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday, from 12 noon until the funeral hour. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert and Nancy Elder of Knoxville; a daughter and son-in-law Dr. Ineta and Scott Cobb of Murfreesboro; four sisters, Carolyn Dyer of Kodak, Tennessee; Sharon Russell of Athens, Alabama; Dianne McWhorter of Louisville, Kentucky; and Cathy Tompkins of Byrdstown, Tennessee; stepmother, Shirley Groce Austin of Byrdstown, Tennessee; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
