BODY OF SWIMMER RECOVERED FROM PERCY PRIEST LAKE
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The body of a man is recovered from Percy Priest Lake after an apparent drowning.
A group of people were swimming in Percy Priest Lake Sunday in the area of the Hamilton Creek Marina, 2901 Bell Road, when one of them experienced difficulty. Others attempted to help him to shore, but lost hold of him, according to Metro Nashville police.
The group called for help just after 12:30 p.m. with multiple agencies responded, including the Nashville Fire Department, MNPD, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation Department.
According to police, after a couple hours of searching, rescue crews were able to locate and recover the body.
The victim is a male in his early 30s from the Republic of Columbia, police said.
