BODY WRAPPED IN TRASH BAGS RECOVERED FROM CUMBERLAND RIVER

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A body was found by a tugboat in the Cumberland River in West Nashville.

The Nashville Fire Department was called to Basswood Avenue Monday and the body was recovered near Rock Harbor Marina.

The victim was wrapped in trash bags and appeared to have been in the water for a significant period of time, according to Metro Nashville Police officials.

The body will be turned over to the medical examiner to determine identification and cause of death.
