BOIL WATER NOTICE IN EFFECT FOR LOUDON COUNTY
A 24-hour boil water advisory was issued for specific areas in Loudon, Tennessee, following a major water main break in the Loudon Utilities Board system on October 22, which shut down the water supply and raised concerns of potential fecal contamination or other disease-causing organisms entering the distribution system, posing an imminent and substantial health risk.
Affected residents along streets including Butler Drive, Club Drive, Fairway Drive, Fore Drive, Huffs Ferry Road, Misty View Drive, Overlook Lane, Par Drive, River Road, Rivers Edge Drive, Riverview Golf Drive, Scenic View Drive, Vineyard Cove Drive, and Westshore Drive are urged to boil water for at least three minutes to a rolling boil before using it for drinking, food preparation, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes, and to discard all stored water or ice; bottled water is recommended as an alternative.
Boiling is not required for bathing, showering (avoid swallowing water), laundry, flushing toilets, or watering plants.
The advisory remains in effect until 4:30 p.m. today or until water tests confirm safety, with updates available on the Loudon Utilities Facebook page or website.
