BORING COMPANY TO BUILD 10-MILE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN NASHVILLE

On July 28, 2025, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced The Boring Company’s plan to build the Music City Loop, a privately funded underground transportation system in Nashville. The 10-mile initial phase will connect downtown Nashville and the Convention Center to Nashville International Airport in about 8 minutes, using all-electric, zero-emission vehicles.
The project aims to reduce traffic congestion, create jobs, lower emissions, and extend road lifespan without taxpayer costs. Construction is expected to start after approvals, with operations potentially beginning in fall 2026. The Loop system, proven safe with a 99.57% rating from DHS and TSA, will offer fast, reliable travel, especially during major events.
The project has broad support from federal, state, and local leaders, including the Tennessee and Nashville Chambers of Commerce, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, and the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association.
