BRADLEY COUNTY DEPUTY ACCIDENTLY SHOOTS SELF WHILE DEALING WITH DOG

A Bradley County Sheriff’s deputy accidentally shot himself in the lower extremity on Wednesday while assisting the 10th Judicial Drug Task Force in executing a search warrant at a residence in eastern Bradley County.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident occurred as the deputy entered the home, where a large pit bull aggressively attacked and bit him on the leg. In defending himself from the animal, the deputy discharged his firearm unintentionally.
He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, with no other injuries reported during the event. As of Wednesday night, there was no update on his condition, and authorities stated that the matter remains under review, with no additional details released.
