Bradley County Mayor Gary Davis shared a heartfelt announcement about the recent passing of his oldest son, Blake, at the age of 48, following a prolonged illness. Blake was a devoted husband to his wife Mollie for nearly 25 years, a father to their three children, and an employee at the Ocoee Utility District. To his father, however, he remained first and foremost his beloved son.

Davis reflected on the profound and unnatural grief of a parent outliving their child, noting that this loss feels uniquely different and deeply painful compared to losing parents or siblings. He expressed immense gratitude to the community for the prayers, messages, calls, and acts of kindness extended to Blake and the family over the years, especially in recent days, acknowledging that this support has been a vital source of strength.

Currently, the family is focused on grieving together and clinging to their loved ones, while leaning on their faith and the community’s ongoing care. Davis kindly requested continued prayers for Mollie, their children, and the entire family in the challenging days ahead.
