BREAKING NEWS – AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE IN BLOUNT COUNTY LOCKED DOWN

BREAKING NEWS – A lockdown is in place at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard base in Blount County. Officers say the base went on lockdown just after noon eastern time for a report of a person possibly armed with a rifle. Multiple agencies are on scene conducting a search of the area. The Tennessee National Guard says there are no reports of any injuries and there have been no confirmed reports of a shooting. This is a breaking news story and more information will be released at a later time.

UPDATE – 3:12 p.m. eastern – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said the sheriff’s office is clearing the scene at McGhee Tyson Airbase and Airbase Road is re-opened.
