BREAKING: TAZEWELL MAN FOUND GUILTY OF CHILD RAPE
Today, after a two-day trial a Claiborne County jury found Bobby Lovin, of Tazewell, Tennessee, guilty of two counts of rape of a child. Claiborne County Criminal Court Judge E. Shayne Sexton revoked Lovin’s bond and scheduled a sentencing hearing for July 29. Lovin has been returned to jail.
Detective Gary Ruszkowski of the New Tazewell Police Department investigated the case, aided by the Department of Children’s Services. Lovin was initially arrested in August 2017.
Bobbie Womack of the Claiborne County Children’s Center assisted throughout the prosecution phase, as did Sonni Reagan of the Children’s Center of the Cumberlands and their facility dog, Lucia.
At trial, Assistant District Attorneys General Graham E. Wilson and Courtney Stanifer represented the State.
