Mrs. Brenda Sue Jones Peters, age 79 of Wartburg, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday September 1, 2026, with her family by her side. For 55 years, Brenda worked as a hairstylist and was a Senior Instructor at the Tennessee School of Beauty. She was a charter member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a deacon’s wife and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved to sing, especially with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Freddie Otto Peters, Jr.

Her parents: Ira and Marie Miler Jones.

Her brothers and sister-in-law: David and Becky Jones, Howard Lee Jones, and an infant brother.

Her in-laws: Jimmy and Carol Peters, Roy Bowlin, Naomi Peters, Wilma and Edward Taylor, Roxie Pergram, Wanda and Ronald Hamilton, and Donnie Peters.

Along with her parents-in-law: Freddie, Sr. and Imogene Terry Peters.

She is survived by her children: Brian and Melissa Peters, Brandon and Kim Peters, Allison and Donnie Smith.

Her grandchildren: Lydia and Tony Bray, Cassidy and Cole Keeton, Macy and John Robert Freels, Kara and Jon Hayden Strunk, Emma Peters, Madeline Poche, and Isabella Poche.

Her great grandchildren: Neva Sue and Nora Claire Bray, Heidi Mae Freels, Canaan and Mason Redmon, Lily and Charlee Van Over.

Two sisters and brothers-in-law: Anna and Kelly Amonett, Janice and Ernie Hudgins.

Her in-laws: Glenda Jones, Ronnie and Sharon Peters, and Margaret Bowlin.

The family will receive friends on Saturday September 5, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Wartburg. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM with Pastor Tim Hamby and Rev. Mike McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Morgan Memorial Gardens.
