Motorists traveling on I-40 in Loudon County should prepare for traffic disruptions due to bridge repair work near mile marker 363, approximately one mile from Exit 364 (Lenoir City/US 321). Starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, I-40 will be reduced to one lane in each direction to facilitate repairs on the bridge over Paw Paw Plains Road.

These lane closures will remain in effect 24/7 and are expected to conclude by 6 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025. Additional closures for the same bridge are scheduled for the following weekend, from Friday night, October 3, through Monday morning, October 6, 2025, weather permitting.

Drivers are advised to anticipate delays, exercise caution due to workers on site, and use tools like TDOT’s SmartWay system or 511 for real-time travel updates. Distractions such as texting or using a cell phone while driving should be avoided to ensure safety.
