BRUCE E. IHRMAN, AGE 74

Bruce E. Ihrman, age 74, age 74, of Crossville, passed away on April 20, 2024. He was born August 4, 1949, in Alexandria, Virginia, the son of Robert and Eleanor Thornton Ihrman. Bruce was a graduate of T.C. Williams High School (1967) in Alexandria, Virginia, and received his BS in Psychology from the University of South Carolina. He also served our country in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky and Fort Sam Houston in Texas. He retired as an operations manager for several golf courses in Florida and moved to Cambridge, MD in 2006, where he married Debbie on April 29, 2009. During his time on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, he spent time teaching and also bartending at the Tidewater Inn and Palm Beach Willies. Bruce had a passion for life, which was evident in his many hobbies and talents. He was an avid music lover, and his friends and family could often hear him strumming his guitar and singing his favorite tunes. He loved being outside, especially near water or golf courses. Bruce spent many years in Florida maintaining golf courses and working at the PGA National Resort, which contributed to his love of the sport. His surfing stories, lifeguarding tales, and attempts at paddle boarding always made everyone smile. He was extremely athletic, participating in many marathons for decades, notably the Boston Marathon, Marine Corps Marathon, and others around the country, for which he was especially proud. Later in life, Bruce enjoyed the hiking trails around Cumberland County, traveling to Europe and Mexico, and cooking at home. He was best known for his fortitude, strong work ethic, and easygoing attitude. Mostly and above all, Bruce was a family man. He loved his wife, his daughter, and his grandsons tremendously.

He is survived by his wife: Deborah Ihrman; daughter: Elle; grandchildren: Jaxin and Kacin of Guymon, Oklahoma; stepdaughter: Katherine Creecy of Nashville; brother: Kent (Vicky) of Norfolk, Virginia; sister: Anne Stewart of Seattle, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother: Robert T. Ihrman.
