Dr. Andrew Todd released the following statement on the closing of Byrdstown Medical Center (BMC):

“Sadly, I am in the position where I am required to make some tough decisions concerning Byrdstown Medical Center, PLLC. As of the end of 2023, I will be closing my medical facility. We are not currently in a position to sustain a solvent business going into 2024. I want all BMC patients to know that I will make sure everyone has their health records and a healthcare plan going forward before I leave this facility. I truly care about all my patients, and I wish we were in a different place, but without Medicaid expansion, we cannot continue at Byrdstown Medical Center and provide the quality of care at the high standards to which I hold my healthcare facility. Thank you all for your understanding and patience during this very difficult time.”
