Charles Edd Lee, age 82, of Rockwood, passed away at his home on February 11, 2021 after a two-year battle with complications of cancer.  Charles was born in a log cabin in Wheat, Tennessee in 1939 to parents (the late) Marjorie Jeanette Barger and Fred Louis Lee. He attended South Harriman High School, but quit school at age 16 to elope with the love of his life, best friend and mother of his daughters, the late Nancy Jo (McNabb) Lee.

He was preceded in death by siblings: Barbara Smith and Gene Lee, both of Oliver Springs. He is survived by his sister: Geraldine Pewitt of Centerville, Tennessee; brother: J.W.Lee of Lafollette; sister-in-law: Mattie Lou Lee of Oliver Springs; daughter: Karen Cooper of Rockwood; daughter: Kathryn Adams of California; son-in-law: Troy Cooper; grandsons: Christian, Philden, Nathan & Jason Cooper; and recently welcomed great-grandson: JulianCooper.

Along with his former wife Nancy, Charles owned and operated Charles Lee Chevrolet & Oldsmobile in Rockwood from 1972 to the early 90’s, when the dealership was sold to treasured family friends, David and Pat Clifton.

The family is grateful to Charles’ special friends Luther Skidmore, Roland “Spider” Ingram, and Sabrina & Tony Bowen, who helped nurture him through many challenges in recent years.

Friends are invited to drop in between 5 until 8 p.m. eastern and share favorite memories of Charles on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood (where masks must be worn and will be provided.) The family will hold a private interment.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to honor Charles by treating all people as he tried to do, with tolerance, understanding & kindness, and by supporting community churches and charitable organizations whenever possible.
