Chester C. Mathes was born in Sequatchie Valley, son of Gene and Mae Brady Mathes. He installed carpet for 40 years in Miami and Naples, FL, and Buffalo, NY area. He was baptized in Cheektowaga, NY at 40 years of age.

He married the love of his life, Judith Ann,  in Buffalo, NY on July 15, 1961.

He is survived by his Wife; Children – Daniel J. Mathes (Colleen) of South Carolina and Susan C. Mathes Guidinger (Scott) of Crossville; Grandchildren – Tony, Sarah and Grant Mathes and Christopher Guidinger; and Great grandson – Avery.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mathes is preceded in death by his Son – Todd A. Mathes; Brother –  Brevis (Red) Mathes; Sister – Helen Mathes Crain (Oren); infant Sister and Brother; and Sister-in-Law – Marlene Glab.

Funeral Services will held on Thursday, February 24, 2022  at 3:00 PM at Bilbrey Funeral Home with burial at Linary Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
