CHILD DIES IN LOCKED VEHICLE IN KNOXVILLE
Knoxville police responded to reports of a child locked in a vehicle this afternoon.
Officers say the child died. It is not known how long the child was left in the vehicle.
Crews responded to the scene at the Food City shopping center area in the 5000 block of Clinton Highway for the incident.
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature in Knoxville was around 90 degrees with a heat index of 95 around time the child was found.
