On Thursday, June 20th and Friday, June 21st, members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Task Force, Sweetwater Police Department, Vonore Police Department, and the Covenant Rescue Group conducted a child sex trafficking operation in Sweetwater, Tennessee. During the course of the operation, seven suspects were taken into custody for engaging in conversations regarding sexual acts with an operative agent that was posing as a juvenile under the age of eighteen. These conversations were heinous in nature, and most included money in exchange for sexual acts.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the Covenant Rescue Group for their assistance and training that their organization provided to ensure this operation was safe and successful.

About the Covenant Rescue Group:

Covenant Rescue Group (CRG) is a 501c3 organization and was founded in June 2019 by former US Navy SEAL Jared Hudson and his wife. They saw a lack of skills and funding to properly rescue victims and arrest criminals involved in Human Trafficking. The Monroe County Violent Crime Task Force consists of assigned members from Tellico Plains Police Department, Vonore Police Department, Madisonville Police Department, Sweetwater Police Department, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. All members are sworn with county wide jurisdiction. Funding for the task force was made possible by a grant with the State of Tennessee.
