CITIZENS’ POLICE ACADEMY SLATED TO BEGIN MAY 11 IN CROSSVILLE

In keeping with the department’s mission statement and its core values, the office of Crossville Police Chief Jessie Brooks reminds adults the 2019 session of the Citizens’ Police Academy begins Saturday, May 11.

During the free 20-hour training series, law-enforcement officers on the city police force will give participants a window into the world of law enforcement and community relations within the City of Crossville. Topics covered will include:

  • History of the Crossville Police Department
  • Senior Fit/Yellow Dot program
  • K-9 Operations
  • Crime Prevention
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Crimestoppers Program
  • Tactical Response Team
  • Firearms Training
  • Active Shooter situations

This is an excellent opportunity for citizens to learn about how and why our police officers handle the situations and matters that affect our daily lives.

Participants must be adult residents of Cumberland County, with no felony convictions, and no misdemeanor convictions within the past year. Space is limited and registrations are limited to the first 20 qualified participants.

Classes will run from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays, from May 11 through June 8.
