Clara Mae Schubert, age 79, of Harriman passed away May 8, 2021 at Diversicare Healthcare of Oak Ridge. She was a member of Harriman Baptist Tabernacle for 46 years where she was a Sunday school teacher for a few years. She retired from Roane Hosiery Mill after 42 years and worked at Calvary Baptist School daycare for 11 years. She is survived by her daughter: Tammy Newton of Harriman; sister: Barbara Gunter of Kingston; sisters-in-law: June Schubert of Rockwood, Barbara Byrge (James) of Michigan, and Mildred Cardenas of Harriman; brother-in-law: Marvin Turpin of Rockwood; nieces: Vickie Unger of Illinois, Debbie (Doyle) Bartley of Kentucky, Joyce (Santos) Vegas of Illinois, Rhonda (James) Flannagan of Kingston, Monica (Chad) Garrett of Rockwood, Doris (Danny) Cranfield of Kingston, and Missy Evans of Loudon; nephews: Randall Gibson of Sweetwater and Tommy Farr of Arkansas; and special great-nephew and family: Christopher Vegas who shared their Bible Ministry with mother and always uplifted her spirits and a host of other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Edward Schubert; nieces: Delores Davis and Lisa Hunt; and sisters: Ruby Daniels, Elmer Farr and Lucille Evans. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. eastern Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston with the funeral to follow. Interment will be at 11 a.m. eastern Friday, May 14, 2021 at Roane Memorial Gardens. Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston is serving the family.
