CLAY COUNTY EMS BACK IN SERVICE AFTER WALK OUT ON MONDAY

CELINA, TN- At the beginning of this week, Clay County Emergency Management stated on Facebook that they would be without an ambulance service inside the county. According to a medical technician, around twenty employees walked out Monday from the Celina EMS due to Mayor Luke Collins allegedly replacing the county’s medical director.

The State EMS office was notified and began working together to run emergency calls, however, they were more likely to have an extended response. Residents in the area were outraged stating that minutes matter in a life-and-death situation.

Overton, Macon, and Jackson County EMS assisted in covering the calls in the last two days. As of last night, Clay County EMS says they are now operational and have two primary EMS units ready to respond to calls. Clay County EMS says “Thank you to County Mayor Dale Reagan and the Commissioners for making this happen today.” They also thanked the surrounding counties for covering the calls.
