He’s not going anywhere.  Tennessee Coach Rick Barnes is staying at UT.

Barnes had been courted by UCLA to the tune of $5mil salary.  In the end, the National Coach of the Year chose to stay at U.T. after accepting a raise to $4.7mil a year.

Athletic Director Phillip Fulmer statement:

“The last few days have been interesting to say the least. One of the nation’s most tradition-rich college basketball programs identified what we here at Tennessee already knew–that Rick Barnes is one of the game’s elite coaches and program changer.”
