POLICE STOP WOMAN ON 127 NORTH RIDING A WALMART SHOPPING CART ON HIGHWAY

Forty-five-year-old Sally Renae Selby was pulled over by Crossville Police Friday on U.S. Highway 127 north, just past Romo’s restaurant around 4 a.m. The report said she was driving in the slow lane of 127 North, very slow – because she was driving a Walmart electric shopping cart.

Selby told police she was on her way to Waffle House to get a cup of coffee. The woman claimed she had built the shopping cart herself and someone had ripped its lights off. But police suspected otherwise. They contacted Walmart loss-prevention workers, who said it was, indeed, their shopping cart.

Video footage showed the woman driving around the store… then out into the parking lot… and then headed for the highway. Selby was taken to jail for theft of property from a building. The cart was returned to Walmart.
