COOKEVILLE AND NASHVILLE JOINT OPERATION RESULTS IN ARREST OF TEACHER FOR ALLEGED S. RAPE
In November 2025, the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, collaborating with the Metro Nashville Police Department’s ICAC Unit, launched an investigation into the online solicitation of a minor. The suspect was identified as Jonathan Jones, a 39-year-old teacher at a school in the Metro Nashville area.
On February 18, 2026, detectives from Cookeville PD, working with MNPD, contacted Jones at his Nashville residence, where he was interviewed and subsequently arrested by Metro Nashville officers.
Warrants were obtained charging him with Solicitation of a Minor for Aggravated Statutory Rape, classified as a Class E felony. Jones was transported to Putnam County, booked into the Putnam County Jail, and is currently held on a $100,000 bond.
