COOKEVILLE – As the number of positive COVID patients and staff continue to rise, Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is revising its masking guidelines effective immediately.

Masks must be worn upon entering the facility and worn the entire time regardless of vaccination status. Social distance should be maintained in the room.

Eye protection is encouraged and should be readily available during all non-COVID direct patient care activities. Eye protection is required for all COVID suspect and positive patients.

All visitors must follow these guidelines:

Note: Labor and delivery patients and their visitors are allowed to enter through the East Entrance for COVID-19 screening. Same day patients (surgery and GI procedures) will enter at the North Patient Tower entrance. Emergency room visitor presenting with the patient to triage will be screened by the triage nurse. ER visitor presenting after the patient is in the room will need to enter through the East Entrance for COVID-19 screening. No outside food or drink is allowed to be brought in the Emergency Department

Cookeville Regional Medical Center encourages families to stay updated with their hospitalized loved ones via phone with calling and texting as well as video apps like FaceTime.

• Visitors may visit a patient on the patient floor during the established visiting hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The number of visitors for a patient may be limited based on the condition of the patient. The patient’s physician or the charge nurse may restrict the number of visitors or visiting hours at their discretion.
• Cookeville Regional allows a support person chosen by the patient to be with the patient during the course of stay for emotional support as long as it does not infringe on other patients’ rights.
