Corban Scott Goad, age 21

Corban Scott Goad, age 21, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022.

Corban was born on October 27, 2000, in Cookeville, Tennessee, and was the son of Chester Wayne Goad and Joy Elizabeth (Terry) Goad.

Corban accepted Christ and was baptized at age 7 and was a member of Pine Eden Baptist Church.

Corban was strong. Throughout high school and college, he worked for Wheaton’s Preferred Movers. His favorite competition was with himself. He believed in physical fitness and healthy habits.  He loved weight lifting and was benching 365, squatting 565, and deadlifting 545.

Corban was an athlete at heart. He played multiple sports in high school, loved football and soccer the most, but dabbled in church softball. He also started a basketball league for young men in the community.  He loved football season and was a diehard fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the University of Tennessee Volunteers.

He attended Tennessee Tech, before accepting a position in Law Enforcement as a Corrections Officer for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.

Corban is survived by his parents, Chester and Joy Goad; maternal grandparents, Don and Linda Terry of Lenoir City, TN, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family around the country. Corban loved his family and his friends, and his special friend Nikki Russell.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frazier and Betty Goad.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 7:00 PM at the Pine Eden Baptist Church gym.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM prior to the service.  The family is asking for friends and family to dress comfortably, wear their favorite sports gear, and if possible wear gear for any of the following teams: Stone Memorial High School Panthers, Baltimore Ravens, UT Vols, or Manchester United. Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Crossville City Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family asks those who are willing to donate to: “The Joseph Warlick Memorial Foundation”, “The Mustard Seed Ranch”, or “Pine Eden Baptist Church’s Operation Christmas Child Program”.  Corban would want anyone reading this to know that they are loved.
