Corey Laine Roberts, age 37 of Dayton Mountain, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 14, 2024. He was born in Chattanooga on February 27, 1987, the son of Michael Roberts and Kimberly (Capps) Lane, who both survive him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Ruby Roberts and Donald Capps, and his niece, Adia Jane Swafford.

Corey grew up in Rhea County but made his home on Dayton Mountain and was a Class of 2005 graduate of Rhea County High School. He owned and was a cabinet maker at Roberts 3:16 Woodworking and was also a cattle farmer. He was on the board of Rhea of Hope Food Pantry, enjoyed golfing, was a doting dad to his children, and was an active member of Dayton Church of God – The Family Church.

Corey is survived by his wife of 11 years, Ashley (Swafford) Roberts of Dayton Mountain; his children, Layne Roberts, Westyn Roberts, and Emmett Ward; his father, Michael (Donna) Roberts of Dayton Mountain; his mother, Kim (Chad) Lane of Decatur; his sisters, Ariel (Corey Burkhart) Roberts of Knoxville and Hayla Patton of Dayton Mountain; his brothers, Lans Patton of Dayton Mountain and Riley Patton (fiancé Gracie Janow) of Graysville; his grandmothers, Theresa Capps and Kelley Gates, both of Dayton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Diane Swafford of Dayton Mountain; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tyler and Jessica Swafford of Dayton Mountain; and his nieces and nephews, Jaxson Burkhart, Jasiah Swafford, and Annie Swafford.

Funeral services for Corey will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Dayton Church of God – The Family Church with Pastor Jeff Page, Pastor Lane Davis, and Pastor Jimmy Jewell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, after 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Corey will be laid to rest at Roberts Family Cemetery in Bledsoe County in a private family service.
