COUPLE CHARGED WITH SEX TRAFFICKING IN MEIGS COUNTY
MEIGS COUNTY, Tenn. — A man and a woman face several charges in Meigs County after a grand jury there indicted them on commercial sex trafficking charges.
Authorities arrested 25-year-old Tristin Epperson of Rhea County and 33-year-old Clarissa McKinney on Monday, according to a release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
This comes after a months-long investigation that started earlier this year over the pair’s interactions with a young person.
Epperson is charged with commercial sex trafficking, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and six counts of statutory rape. He’s now in custody on a $100,000 bond.
McKinney is charged with commercial sex trafficking, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and six counts of facilitation of statutory rape. A judge released her on her own recognizance.
The TBI made the announcement of the arrest on July 30th, which is World Day against Trafficking in Persons.
