COVID CASES RISING AGAIN IN TENNESSEE
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Tennessee has seen more than a 31% increase in COVID-19 cases this past week with a 90% increase in hospital admissions in Davidson County.
The emergency room employees FOX 17 News spoke with say they are seeing more COVID cases, but they say the severity is down, so the cases they are seeing are mild.
Johnny Presley, a physician’s assistant in the emergency department, says they are seeing a rise in Covid cases. He adds the symptoms are not very concerning.
“The variations we’re seeing right now…the symptoms are very minor,” Presley explained. “It’s a lot like flu symptoms. They come in with nasal and chest congestion, cough, and runny nose.
Presley says it’s important to take care of yourself during this season.
“Proper hand washing,” Presley emphasized. “If you’re sick or around someone sick, then obviously try to keep some distance.”
An emergency department doctor, Dr. Alex Hampton, says he is seeing a very similar trend. He stated he does expect the cases to continue to rise during the next few weeks due to the school year starting and large crowds congregating for football season.
