CPSC ANNOUNCES RECALLS FOR OVER 114,000 YAMAHA AND E-Z-GO GOLF CARTS

The first recall affects approximately 4,300 model year 2017-2024 Yamaha DR2A and DR2E PTVs (serial numbers starting with J0D, J0E, and J2D), sold nationwide from June 2018 to July 2025 for $9,500 to $13,000, where brakes may fail; consumers should stop use immediately and contact Yamaha at 866-747-4027 or ygc[email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) for a free brake shoe and pad replacement at a dealer or on-site, with no incidents reported.
The second recall covers about 19,300 model year 2021-2025 Yamaha Drive 2 Gas/Electric PTVs across various models and specific serial number ranges (e.g., 2021 J2D from 0000625 to 0000880, up to 2025 J5C from 0200166 to 0300281), sold from June 2020 to July 2025 for $8,300 to $12,900, lacking stop lights; owners must cease operation and arrange free stoplight installation via the same Yamaha contacts, also with no reported incidents.
The third recall involves roughly 90,800 E-Z-GO RXV Freedom, Valor, and TXT models from 2020-2025 (serial numbers 5538278 to 5920722 for RXV/Valor and 3455024 to 3582057 for TXT/Valor, plus 7,300 in Canada), sold from September 2019 to June 2025 for $8,400 to $14,000, which may leak fuel at the engine’s quick-connect fitting posing a fire risk; users should halt use and reach Textron E-Z-GO at 888-438-3946 or [email protected] for a free inspection and fuel line repair if needed, with no incidents noted.
