CROSSVILLE WOMAN SCAMMED FOR OVER $16,000

Yesterday, Deputy Jeffrey Brown was dispatched to the Justice Center due to someone needing a report done. Upon arriving, Deputy Brown made contact with a woman who said that in November she was contacted over the phone at approximately 6:30 A.M on the 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th by an individual saying he worked for Discover and that there was some unusual charges on the card, trying to get more information out of her.

She said afterward she noticed several credit card charges including Air B&B for $1,168.21, Apple.com for $3422.93, Walmart for $959.79, Apple.com for $2993.86, Apple.com for $3528.86, and another Apple.com for 2993.86. A total of $16,235.72.

The woman said she has been in contact with her credit card provider, and a man named Eddie who works with Apple, and they are all aware
of what she is going through and has canceled her cards.

She stated that she has been in contact with her bank as well, and they are getting her a new bank card, just in case the scammer has that information as well.

The victim also froze her Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion credit scores.

The packages that were ordered are all being sent to a location on S. Miami Ave in Miami Florida and there was a recent attempt to buy a TV at Walmart but was declined.

No suspects have been named and no charges have been filed as of yet.
