CUMBERLAND COUNTY EDUCATORS HONORED FOR EARNING DOCTORATES AT APRIL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

The Cumberland County Board of Education celebrated the academic achievements of five employees who have recently earned their doctoral degrees during their April 2026 meeting.

Among the honorees is Dr. Mary Jane Allen of North Cumberland, who completed her doctorate in Education Leadership with a focus on Special Education at East Tennessee State University, where she notably served as a RITASEE Scholar.

Dr. Stephanie Brown from Pine View Elementary also reached this milestone, earning her EdD in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University.

The district also recognizes three educators who completed their doctoral programs through Carson-Newman University: Dr. Aaron Lewis of Pleasant Hill and Dr. John Lewis of South Cumberland both earned their EdDs in Administrative Leadership, while Dr. Sabrina Babin of Stone Elementary earned her EdD in Educational Leadership.

These three scholars are set to participate in their formal graduation ceremonies on May 1, 2026. The Board extends its warmest congratulations to these dedicated professionals for their commitment to excellence and their significant contributions to the field of education.
