CUMBERLAND COUNTY FIRE THANKS GROUPS FOR ASSISTANCE WITH RENEGADE MOUNTAIN BLAZE
It was a ten-hour battle yesterday to contain a wildfire on Renegade Mountain.
The Cumberland County Fire Department wishes to thank several groups for their assistance during the incident.
The statement is as follows:
“A huge thank you to all our members who came in to help our community. Several took off work to do so.
Thank you to Chic-fi-la, Firehouse Subs, Rural King, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Crab Orchard Christian Church, ServPro, and everyone else who supplied food and drinks for rehab to our firefighters.
Special thanks to our Crossville Fire Department firefighters and state forestry for fighting with us to minimize the damage on Renegade Mountain.
Thank you to the Cumberland County Rescue Squad for leaving your day job to volunteer your time and vehicles to transport residents from the affected area as well as firefighters, supplies, and equipment to needed areas.
Everyone went above and beyond the call of duty to help our community.
Thank you to EMS for making sure we had medical treatment on-site for the duration.
Thank you to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department for helping evacuate and keep residents safe.
Thank you to Fairfield Glade Fire Department for assisting with additional calls.
We also have to mention VEC and Crab Orchard Water Utility for their special assistance.
Our community is very blessed.
Several fires will continue to burn in the area until we get substantial rainfall.
