CUMBERLAND COUNTY SCHOOLS MONITORING WINTER WEATHER THREAT FOR NEXT WEEK
Cumberland County Schools Director Rebecca Farley stated this morning that the district is actively monitoring the weather forecast for potential winter weather that could affect school operations in the coming week. Student and staff safety continues to be a primary concern, with ongoing coordination between school officials, Cumberland County emergency management, and the National Weather Service.
Decisions about any Friday night sporting events will be finalized Friday afternoon based on updated forecasts. Should any schedule adjustments—such as closures, delays, or other changes—become necessary next week, families will be notified promptly through ParentSquare (via phone calls, texts, and emails), as well as through the district’s social media channels and local media outlets. Farley also reminded families to prepare a backup childcare plan in case of any disruptions.
