CURLING IRON RECALLED FOR BURN HAZARD; BARREL CAN SNAP AND DETACH
The Bio Ionic One-Inch-Long Barrel Curling Iron (model LXT-CL-1.0, date codes 0722 to 1223) is being recalled due to a defect where the black barrel can snap and detach, posing a burn hazard. Approximately 357,000 units were sold in the U.S., plus 3,000 in Canada, at retailers including Amazon, Bioionic.com, Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, and various salons from August 2022 to July 2024 for about $165.
The firm has received 258 reports of detachment, including six minor burn injuries. Consumers should immediately stop using the product, unplug it, and contact Bio Ionic at 877-853-9627 (10 a.m.–4 p.m. ET, Monday–Friday), via email at [email protected], or through the “Product Recalls” section at www.bioionic.com to register for a free replacement.
Users must cut off and return the plug using a prepaid shipping label.
The recall, numbered 26-046, was announced on October 23, 2025, by importer J & D Brush Co., LLC, with the product manufactured in China.
