DALE HOLLOW LAKE, PLANKYARD ROAD ACCESS AREA CLOSING APRIL 1

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the Plankyard Access Area at Dale Hollow Lake near Byrdstown, Tennessee, is closing for an unspecified time period as of April 1.

The Plankyard contains both a primitive campsite and boat launching ramp. The closure is necessary for on-site collection of drift and debris resulting from recent high water at Dale Hollow Lake.

“The access road leading to the ramp will be barricaded and closed to vehicular traffic near the entrance to Plankyard Road,” said Resource Manager Stephen Beason.

Vehicular traffic on the Plankyard Road is strongly discouraged because the road is narrow and there won’t be a turnaround point at the gate.

Nearby alternative boat-launching ramps include Obey River Day Use Area, Sunset Marina, Star Point Marina, Eagles Cove Marina and Cove Creek.
