DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS NOV. 1
East Tennessee residents will soon get an extra hour of sleep as Daylight Saving Time officially comes to an end.
Clocks are set to fall back from 2:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on November 1, returning the region to Standard Time. While the shift brings brighter mornings—pushing sunrise from nearly 8:00 a.m. closer to 7:00 a.m. to benefit the school run and morning commute—it also means significantly earlier sunsets. Evening darkness will arrive by dinner time, with sunsets shifting from just before 7:00 p.m. down to around 5:30 p.m.
The region is expected to remain on Standard Time throughout the winter months unless federal legislation for permanent Daylight Saving Time is ultimately approved.
