DECKER ARRESTED FOLLOWING BURGLARY OF CHURCH

Wayne County, Kentucky deputies responded to Canada Creek Baptist Church on Highway 92 before sunrise yesterday for a burglary. Upon arrival officers located 33-year-old Lucas J. Decker of Monticello reportedly standing inside the church yelling. Decker allegedly started throwing Bibles and song books at law enforcement. After a taser was deployed and a brief struggle, Decker was subdued and was placed under arrest.  An inspection of the church revealed the front door damaged and two windows had been broken. Decker was charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, first-degree disorderly conduct, menacing, third-degree assault of a police or probation officer and for public intoxication involving a controlled substance (excludes alcohol).
