DEPUTIES: VAUGHN ARRESTED AFTER USING HOT WATER TO PUNISH 2-YEAR-OLD

Rhea County authorities say a woman has been arrested after badly burning a 2-year-old girl as a punishment. Hospital officials told officers the child had burns on her feet looking like a pair of socks on her. The burns were deemed non-accidental. The girl was taken to an area burn unit for treatment. Deputies arrested 53-year-old Jennifer Vaughn, who was providing care for the girl, and charged her with aggravated child abuse. Vaughn was taken to the Rhea County jail and placed under $150,000 bond.
