DEPUTY SPEAKS WITH MAN REGARDING POSSIBLE $2,175 FRAUD

On Wednesday, Deputy Shane Henderson with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office spoke with a man in the Cumberland County Justice Center lobby.
The man said a woman had been coming over and cleaning his house, cooking for him, and helping him out with going and picking up things from town for him including his new Title Max card to get money out for him.
However, the victim stated that on the 28th of October he got a new loan for $2,700 through Title Max and allowed the woman to withdraw $300. The victim stated that over the next week he noticed that seven transactions were made totaling $2,175 that he did not know about.
A report was completed on the incident and no charges are filed currently due to lack of evidence and being unable to make contact with the alleged suspect.
