DIETARY SUPPLEMENT RECALLED FOR DANGEROUS INGREDIENTS INCLUDING DMAA
Modern Warrior, a Phoenix-based company, has issued a voluntary recall of all lots of its dietary supplement Modern Warrior Ready (also labeled as part of the “Body Repair Plan” with “Mental Clarity” branding) after regulatory testing detected undeclared and potentially dangerous ingredients: tianeptine, 1,4-DMAA, and aniracetam. The product was distributed nationwide directly to consumers online from April 2022 through December 8, 2025.
Tianeptine, not approved for use in U.S. dietary supplements, poses serious risks including life-threatening suicidal ideation or behavior (especially in children, adolescents, and adults 25 and younger), as well as overdose symptoms like confusion, seizures, drowsiness, dry mouth, and shortness of breath—effects worsened by alcohol.
Combining it with MAOI antidepressants can cause severe complications such as stroke or death.
1,4-DMAA, a banned stimulant, can elevate blood pressure and lead to cardiovascular issues including heart attack, shortness of breath, and chest tightening. Aniracetam, another unapproved ingredient often marketed as a nootropic, adds further concern due to its unregulated status.
The company has ceased distribution, removed the product from sale, and quarantined remaining inventory. Consumers who purchased Modern Warrior Ready are urged to immediately stop using it to avoid these potential health hazards. This recall was announced in late December 2025 and publicized by the FDA in early January 2026.
