DISTRICT ATTORNEY DUNAWAY TO LOOK INTO DEATH OF ALVIN SPARKS

Alvin V. Sparks Jr., a 62-year-old beloved father, friend, and Harley enthusiast from Tennessee, passed away on October 26, 2025, at Skyline Medical Center due to injuries from a tragic car crash on October 4, 2025, caused by an unlicensed driver in the country illegally.
Born in Xenia, Ohio, on February 21, 1963, Sparks was known for his kind heart, willingness to help anyone, and passion for motorcycles, automobiles, and outdoor adventures, especially near the ocean.
He is survived by his daughter Alivia Sparks (and Cody Jones), son Patrick, brothers Steven and Bruce Sparks, sister Sandra Sparks Carter, and numerous extended family and friends; he was preceded in death by his daughter Mandy Randolph Sparks, grandfather Haskell Sparks, and friend Don Ogle.
The incident has prompted District Attorney Bryant Dunaway’s office to review the case for potential additional charges and highlighted local-federal partnerships like the 287(g) program for public safety.
A funeral service celebrating his life, with attendees encouraged to wear Harley shirts, is scheduled for November 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home, following visitation from 11:00 AM, with burial at Sand Spring Cemetery in Monterey.
