DRIVE-BY SHOOTING LEADS TO ARREST OF FELIPE RUYZ PACHECO

On June 22, 2025, at around 1:20 pm, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Dustin Cravens responded to a report of gunshots on Rock Springs Rd. A caller reported hearing about five gunshots from an unoccupied residence across the street. Deputy Cravens observed six bullet holes in the front of the residence and interviewed witnesses who confirmed the gunfire and saw a black vehicle speeding away. Deputies entered the home and recovered bullets to identify the firearm used.
During the investigation, Baxter Police conducted a traffic stop on Birdwell Ln, where the driver, Felipe Ruyz Pacheco, consented to a vehicle search. Authorities found 17 spent shell casings matching the caliber from the Rock Springs Rd scene and a discarded .300 blackout AR-style rifle nearby. Pacheco admitted to firing at the residence and discarding the weapon. He was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment, Fabricating/Tampering with Evidence, and Vandalism, and is held without bond with a court date of June 25, 2025. An I.C.E. investigation revealed Pacheco is illegally in the U.S., and his true identity is uncertain.
