DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER A CRASH INTO HARRIMAN SONIC DRIVE-IN

A man had to be subdued in the middle of Roane Street in Harriman last night after allegedly crashing his vehicle into the Sonic Drive-In parking lot, and then running into the street. That’s when Harriman police and the Sheriff’s Department deputies subdued him to keep from harming himself or others.
According to Chief Deputy Tim Phillips of the Sheriff’s Department, the man not identified at this time, was being sought after an alleged welfare check on a residence north of the city, when they came across him at that location in front of Sonic.
Both Harriman police and county Sheriff’s deputies were able to put him in handcuffs, and Philips said he was shackled in the patrol car as well to keep from harming himself for others until an ambulance arrived to take him to be evaluated at a local hospital.
At this time, no charges have been filed.
